Punjab govt on high alert as rainfall predicted across province

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed the administration to stay on high alert as heavy rainfall is expected in Lahore and other parts of Punjab.

In an official statement, the chief minister directed authorities to make full use of the Water and Sanitation Agency’s resources to manage rainwater effectively in urban areas.

She also called for the deployment of modern machinery and equipment to ensure quick drainage of rainwater and prevent flooding in low-lying areas.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that “since the establishment of WASA, citizens should experience relief and convenience during heavy rainfall,” and added that authorities must carry out efficient drainage operations across all districts of the province.
