Pakistan’s auto sales surge 67% in September 2025

Pakistan’s automobile sector showed a strong rebound in September 2025, with total car sales rising 67% year-on-year (YoY) and 22% month-on-month (MoM) to 17,174 units, according to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) compiled by Topline Research.

Experts credited the growth to lower interest rates, easing inflation, a more stable economic environment, and improved consumer confidence, all of which boosted vehicle demand. In the first quarter of FY26, car sales reached 42,267 units, marking a 53% YoY jump from 27,585 units in 1QFY25.

Honda and Suzuki Drive Market Recovery

Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) saw the biggest growth, with sales up 82% YoY and more than doubling MoM to 2,307 units.

The City and Civic lineup rose 73% YoY and nearly tripled MoM to 1,977 units, while BR-V and HR-V sales surged 2.6x YoY but dipped 12% MoM to 330 units.

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) followed with sales climbing 79% YoY and 26% MoM to 8,997 units. The Alto led the way, growing 50% YoY and 13% MoM, while the Cultus, Swift, and Ravi models posted strong YoY gains of 7.3x, 2.3x, and 4.3x, respectively.

Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) sales jumped 73% YoY and 36% MoM to 1,429 units, mainly driven by its new Haval H6 PHEV.

Hyundai Nishat rose 56% YoY but slipped 3% MoM to 1,175 units, and Indus Motor Company (INDU) reported 33% YoY growth despite a 7% MoM drop to 3,152 units.

Motorbikes, Tractors, and Heavy Vehicles

Sales of two- and three-wheelers increased 21% YoY and 7% MoM to 158,941 units in September, pushing 1QFY26 sales to 432,000 units, up 35% YoY.

Atlas Honda (ATLH) achieved record-breaking monthly sales of 136,000 units, led by its CD70 model.

Tractor sales, however, declined 27% YoY and 21% MoM to 790 units, as floods and weak agricultural conditions hit demand. Still, production of 2,077 units indicates steady orders under the government’s tractor scheme, suggesting recovery ahead.

Truck and bus sales soared 2.6x YoY and 24% MoM to 824 units, the highest in nearly 7.5 years. In 1QFY26, total heavy vehicle sales reached 1,864 units, nearly doubling from 926 units in the same period last year.
