Federal govt to distribute free laptops for students in Karachi

Government spokesperson Raja Ansari has announced a major initiative for students in Karachi, confirming that free laptops will be distributed later this year.

He said the Prime Minister will launch the project in December, with the distribution ceremony to be held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.

Ansari noted that the federal government is committed to providing facilities for Karachi’s residents and is working in partnership with the Sindh government to complete development projects.

He also shared that 22 mega projects worth Rs334 billion are set to be launched in the city.

Speaking on Karachi’s political landscape, Ansari praised Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, describing him as a good person. He added that despite limited representation in Sindh, the federal government is continuing with its development agenda.

Ansari stressed that the aim is to work alongside the Sindh government and the Mayor of Karachi, making it clear that the focus is on cooperation rather than political point-scoring or criticism, as seen from parties like Jamaat-e-Islami.
