An emergency operation has been launched around Lahore Airport to control bird activity and improve air safety following directions from Lahore Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ijaz.
According to the district administration, pigeon cages have been removed from areas surrounding the airport in accordance with aviation regulations. Daily inspections are also being conducted at Raja Park, which has been identified as a sensitive area, to ensure it remains free of birds.
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has also cleared the bird-hazard point on Yazdani Road. Relevant departments have been instructed to monitor all identified bird-hazard locations around the airport on a daily basis.

The deputy commissioner has directed officials to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against bird activity in areas that could endanger aircraft. He also ordered the removal of pigeon cages and the cleaning of places where birds are being bred.
Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ijaz said the safety of airspace and passengers remains the administration’s top priority, stressing the need for strict enforcement of aviation regulations to reduce the risk of bird strikes.
