Authorities in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, have announced the temporary closure of all educational institutions after the Meteorological Department issued a high flood alert.
An official notification stated that both public and private schools in the district will remain closed on August 18 and 19, 2025, as a precautionary measure to protect students and staff.
The Met Office has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several districts, including Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Haveli, Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber, warning that flash floods and landslides may occur, especially in hilly areas.
It further cautioned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Islamabad within the next 24 hours, with intermittent breaks. Officials said the closure of schools in Bagh was necessary to minimize risks as the region braces for the monsoon spell.

For Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain, winds, and thunderstorms is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.
