Ahead of Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, Islamabad authorities have imposed a ban on the sale and use of ‘baajas’ (vuvuzelas), citing public disturbance caused by them during celebrations.
The city administration, aiming to maintain order and peace, has directed assistant commissioners and magistrates to seize horns being sold at roadside stalls across the capital.
According to the deputy commissioner, “violations will result in legal action,” and officers have been instructed to act promptly and maintain daily enforcement until Independence Day.
He also made it clear that any officer failing to prevent the sale of these horns within their area will be held responsible.
