Almost 50% of Pakistan’s population turned to second-hand clothing over the past year, as revealed by a recent Gallup & Gilani Pakistan survey.
The findings show that 48 percent of the participants said they had bought used clothes like sweaters and jackets from Landa Bazaars.
The survey, held across the country from March 7 to 22, 2025, involved 779 people from both urban and rural regions of all four provinces.
It was conducted using phone interviews under the Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing method.
When asked whether they had purchased clothing from second-hand markets within the last year, 48 percent responded yes, 51 percent said no, and 1 percent either did not know or chose not to answer.
Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, which is connected with the Gallup International Association, pointed out that the results highlight the growing popularity of second-hand clothing in the country, especially where limitations and daily budget needs push people to buy used instead of new.
Experts noted that Landa Bazaars have long been a go-to choice for many, especially in winter, as they offer a wide variety of imported used clothes at prices that are easier on the pocket.
