KARACHI: As the investigation into the death of actress and model Humaira Asghar continues, police have now received important insights from her banking records, according to the report.
Reports show that Humaira maintained an active current account in a private bank. At the time of review, the account held over Rs398,000.
Records showed she regularly withdrew amounts between Rs25,000 and Rs50,000 from ATMs. Based on this information, investigators believe there is no immediate evidence of financial distress.
Officials have reached out to other banks as well to check if she maintained additional accounts elsewhere.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that no jewellery was found at her residence. The absence of cash and valuables has added another layer of complexity to the ongoing probe.
Humaira’s body was discovered on July 8, 2025, when Gizri Police, accompanied by a court bailiff, forced entry into her fourth-floor flat located in Karachi’s Ittehad Commercial Area.
This was done under court orders following eviction proceedings launched by her landlord over unpaid rent dating back to April 2024.
Neighbours had reported a foul smell, but due to the adjacent apartment being vacant since February 2025, her death went unnoticed for some time. All doors were locked, suggesting she had been alone at the time.
Born on October 10, 1992, in Lahore, Humaira Asghar Ali was a multi-talented artist. A graduate of the National College of Arts, she held degrees in Fine Arts, TV, and Film, and went on to earn an M.Phil from Punjab University.
She began her career as a fashion model in 2013 and later appeared in several dramas and films, including the 2015 movie Jalaibee. Her participation in Tamasha Ghar in 2022 further elevated her public profile.
Beyond acting, Humaira was also passionate about painting, sculpture, and fitness. She regularly shared her artistic and wellness pursuits with her 715,000 followers on Instagram.
Her final post, uploaded on September 30, 2024, showed no detectable signs of emotional struggle, although her reduced activity on social media hinted at a gradual withdrawal from the spotlight.
