The official price of broiler chicken meat has been slashed by Rs14 per kilogram, reducing it from Rs446 to Rs432 per kg.
Despite the price adjustment, customers continue to report being overcharged in local markets, where chicken is still being sold at Rs450 per kg.
Meanwhile, the wholesale price for live broiler chicken has been fixed at Rs284 per kg, with a retail price set at Rs298 per kg.
However, buyers have raised concerns that sellers are demanding as much as Rs295 per kg for live chicken, disregarding the officially approved rates.
