Pakistan extends airspace ban on Indian flights through June 24

Pakistan has officially extended its airspace restrictions on Indian flights until June 24, according to a statement from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Friday.

Originally put in place on April 24, the ban will now remain effective until 4:59 am on June 24.

It applies to all aircraft registered in India and those operated, owned, or leased by Indian carriers or aviation companies, including military planes.

The directive clearly states that “no flight operated by Indian airlines or aviation operators will be permitted to enter or transit through Pakistani airspace during this period.”

As a result, Indian airlines have had to adjust their international flight paths, leading to longer routes, increased fuel costs, delays, and in some cases, flight cancellations. Passengers have also been impacted, facing higher ticket prices and travel disruptions.

The PAA added that they are keeping a close watch on the situation, and the restrictions will remain until further updates, amid ongoing diplomatic and military strains between Pakistan and India.
