Punjab launches digital system to monitor school security

Punjab has launched a new digital system to monitor security arrangements at public and private educational institutions across the province.

The system uses geotagging and online monitoring to help authorities keep track of security measures at schools. As part of the initiative, the Educational Institution Security Status App and Web Portal have been introduced for educational institutions.

All government and private schools will be required to access the platform using their official login credentials and submit complete information about their security arrangements. Schools have also been instructed to ensure that the information provided is accurate, complete, and regularly updated.

The digital platform will allow authorities to monitor the security status of educational institutions on an ongoing basis and determine whether the required safety measures are in place.

The system is also expected to help authorities take timely administrative action and improve coordination between educational institutions and relevant departments.

Officials said the geotagging and online monitoring system would make security arrangements at schools more organised, effective and easier to monitor across Punjab.
