Gold prices drop by Rs5,900 in Pakistan after record high

The price of 24 karat gold fell by Rs5,900 per tola on Thursday, trading at Rs359,000 compared to its previous rate of Rs364,900, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.

Just a day earlier, gold had touched a record high of Rs364,900 per tola, surpassing its earlier peak of Rs363,700 set in late April.

Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24 karat gold dropped by Rs5,058, bringing it down to Rs307,784 from Rs312,842. The rate for 10 grams of 22 karat gold also saw a reduction of Rs4,637, now standing at Rs282,145 compared to Rs286,782.

Silver rates saw a decline as well, with the price per tola falling by Rs24 to Rs4,057 and the rate for 10 grams decreasing by Rs20 to Rs3,478.

On the international front, the gold price fell by $61, settling at $3,363 compared to $3,424 earlier. The silver price also dipped by $0.26, now recorded at $39.08 from $39.34.
