Authorities have released a detailed traffic advisory for the 9th and 10th of Muharram, announcing road closures and alternate routes to support the movement of mourners and maintain public safety during the central processions.
As per the traffic plan, M.A. Jinnah Road will remain closed for all kinds of traffic from Guru Mandir to Tower because of security arrangements.
The main Muharram processions will begin from Nishtar Park and pass through their traditional routes before ending at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah.
To reduce inconvenience for the public, traffic police have suggested several alternative routes. People traveling from Nazimabad should use Lasbela Chowk, continue through the Garden area, and then head towards Nishtar Road.

Those coming from Liaquatabad have been advised to take a left turn at Teen Hatti and use Martin Road. Officials also said that the road connecting Liaquatabad to Guru Mandir will remain closed from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the 9th of Muharram.
Motorists traveling from Hassan Square to Peoples Chowrangi should use Kashmir Road, Jail Flyover, Teen Hatti, and Nishtar Road. Traffic coming from Shahrah-e-Faisal will be redirected to Kashmir Road through the Society Light Signal.
Drivers traveling from Jamshed Road near the Central Jail Gate towards M.A. Jinnah Road through Guru Mandir have been advised to take Soldier Bazaar and Bahadur Yar Jang Road instead.
Traffic police have requested citizens to use the recommended alternate routes and cooperate with law enforcement officials to help ensure smooth traffic flow during the Muharram observances and avoid unnecessary delays.
