Gold nears Rs400,000 per tola after fresh increase

Gold prices in Pakistan hit a new record high on Tuesday, in line with gains seen in international markets, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

In the local market, gold rose by Rs5,100 per tola, reaching Rs398,800. The price of 10 grams stood at Rs341,906, marking an increase of Rs4,372 from the previous day.

This comes after Monday’s sharp jump, when per tola rates climbed by Rs3,400 to settle at Rs393,700.

On the global front, bullion prices also strengthened. APGJSA reported that gold was trading at $3,770 per ounce, inclusive of a $20 premium, after a rise of $51 during the day.

Silver also followed the upward trend, gaining Rs42 per tola to close at Rs4,637.
