The Balochistan government has eased restrictions on the transfer and posting of teachers, allowing teaching staff to move to vacant and sanctioned positions within their respective districts.
The School Education Department issued a notification detailing the revised transfer policy. Under the new rules, teachers can apply for transfers within the same district against approved and vacant posts.
However, the ban on inter-district transfers for Secondary School Teachers (SSTs), headmasters and headmistresses remains in place. These officials will not be allowed to transfer from one district to another under the updated policy.
The department has also allowed surplus teachers currently posted in Quetta to return to their native districts. However, the notification states that teachers cannot be transferred from Quetta to another district, nor can teachers from other districts be moved to Quetta.

Teachers who are currently awaiting posting have been directed to submit their applications to the relevant District Education Officer (DEO) within one month.
The department has warned both officials and individuals against violating the revised transfer policy. Action will be taken against those found breaching the notification.
The changes are aimed at improving the management of vacant teaching positions while allowing teachers to seek transfers within their respective districts.
