Senior Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Memon has announced that the government will launch the Shikarpur People’s Bus Service from Sukkur next week.
A meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department was held under the chairmanship of Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, where several decisions were taken.
According to the spokesperson, the department is working on improving travel facilities for citizens and is planning new routes along with special initiatives for women.
The Transport Department spokesperson said the Shikarpur People’s Bus Service will start from Sukkur this week. The government will also hold ceremonies soon to distribute pink scooters among women in Sukkur and Hyderabad.

The government has also decided to procure electric, hybrid, and double-decker buses in the next financial year. Plans have been approved to expand the transport network across Sindh, including Karachi.
Sharjeel Memon said special arrangements are being prepared for Hyderabad as well. He added that the People’s Bus Service will soon begin on the Haider Chowk to Kohsar route and the Hyderabad to Tando Allahyar route.
More buses will also be added to the transport system in the coming financial year, with services launched in phases across different districts to meet rising transport demand in Karachi.
He further stated that the People’s Bus Service on the Sukkur–Shikarpur route will start next week. He also said all formalities related to EV taxis will be completed by the end of this month.
