Gold prices surge by Rs7,000 per tola in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan saw a sharp rise on Saturday, with the rate per tola increasing by Rs7,000 to reach Rs526,962, following gains in the international market.

Data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association showed that the price of 10 grams of gold also went up by Rs6,001 to Rs451,784 during the day.

Globally, gold prices rose by $70 per ounce to reach $5,042, including a $20 premium, which added upward pressure on local rates.

The increase comes after a decline on Friday, when gold prices had fallen by Rs8,600 per tola to settle at Rs519,962, reflecting ongoing volatility in the market.

Meanwhile, silver prices moved in the opposite direction, dropping by Rs105 to Rs8,219 per tola in the domestic market.
