Veteran Pakistani actor Asim Bukhari passes away at 76

Veteran television, stage, and film actor Asim Bukhari has passed away at the age of 76, family sources confirmed on Thursday.

The senior artist, celebrated for his memorable performances and decades-long contribution to Pakistani entertainment, died after a prolonged struggle with serious health issues.

Relatives said Bukhari had been admitted to a hospital in Lahore for the past fifteen days, suffering from chronic heart and kidney problems. His condition deteriorated recently, and he slipped into a coma before passing away.

Asim Bukhari’s career spanned many decades and included roles in television dramas, stage plays, and films.

He is best remembered for his performances in classic dramas such as Sona Chandi, Ainak Wala Jin, Janjaal Pura, Zard Dopeher, and Shehr-e-Murad.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her sorrow over the loss of the senior actor. She also extended her condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family.

Fans and colleagues remembered him as a versatile and respected performer. Many in the entertainment industry also described him as a mentor who guided younger actors throughout his career.
