Broiler chicken prices increase across Pakistan

Inflation remains a concern in the city’s open markets and Ramadan bazaars, where the price of broiler chicken meat has increased by 7 rupees per kilogram. The new rate now stands at 504 rupees per kilogram.

According to the latest figures, the farm rate for live broilers is 320 rupees per kilogram. The wholesale price is recorded at 334 rupees per kilogram, while the official retail price has been fixed at 348 rupees per kilogram.

Market analysts believe that higher demand during the month of Ramadan combined with limited supply is pushing prices upward. This situation is placing additional financial pressure on ordinary citizens.

The Market Committee has also advised consumers not to pay higher than the official rates and to buy poultry only from authorized shops.

It is worth noting that rising inflation hits salaried individuals the hardest. Many middle class families are already reducing spending on basic needs to manage their household budgets. Experts warn that if this trend continues, people’s purchasing power could decline further in the coming months.
