New private airline to launch operations in Pakistan this June

Pakistan’s aviation sector is set for further growth as a new private airline prepares to begin commercial operations, aiming to improve air connectivity in underserved parts of the country.

South Air is expected to launch flights in June with ATR 72 aircraft. According to reports, one of the airline’s aircraft, which is being brought to Pakistan, recently arrived in Egypt after departing from Italy, signalling progress ahead of the launch.

In its initial phase, the airline plans to operate flights connecting Gwadar, Turbat, and Panjgur with major cities including Karachi, Quetta, and Islamabad. Scheduled operations are likely to start during the first week of June.

Presenting itself as a modern domestic carrier, South Air says it will focus on offering affordable and convenient regional travel. The airline intends to connect smaller cities with major economic hubs across Pakistan, improving travel access for areas with limited flight options.
