PAA announces Rs40,700 minimum salary for outsourced staff

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has set a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 40,700 for outsourced employees, with the revised wage effective from July 1.

The new salary will apply to all outsourced workers, including security personnel. The PAA has instructed contractors to ensure that employees receive the revised salary under all existing and extended outsourcing contracts.

Contractors will also be required to provide workers with Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) and social security benefits in accordance with the applicable rules.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to relocate the headquarters of the PAA and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) from Karachi to Islamabad.

A seven-member committee has been formed to supervise the relocation process. The CAA is expected to shift its headquarters by November, while the PAA is scheduled to complete the move by December.

Both organisations currently have their main offices in Karachi. However, their regional offices across the country will continue operating as usual.
