Over 400,000 students fail intermediate exams across Pakistan in 2025

The Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has shared nationwide figures revealing that over 400,000 students were unable to clear their intermediate exams in 2025.

According to the report, Punjab recorded the highest number of unsuccessful candidates. Out of 759,431 students who appeared from nine boards, 270,068 did not pass.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 282,585 students from eight boards took the exams, and 5,316 of them failed.

Sindh saw 380,013 students appear through six boards, with 53,034 failing to meet the passing criteria.

In Balochistan, 54,456 students sat for the exams under the Quetta board, where 3,147 students were unsuccessful.

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) reported that 100,993 students appeared, out of which 17,319 failed.

In another set of exams, 48,031 intermediate students appeared, and none of them passed, as all 48,031 failed.

Overall, the IBCC data gives a clear picture of student performance across the country in the 2025 intermediate examinations.
