The Punjab Transport Company has launched 15 electric buses in Chakwal as part of the province’s clean and modern transport expansion, with the service officially starting on December 3.
These buses operate on three main routes connecting the District Complex to Dhudial, Tehsil Chowk to Balkasar, and Tehsil Chowk to Mohal Mughlan.
Officials described the initiative as a step toward providing a noise-free and smog-free commute for residents, with onboard features such as air conditioning, digital displays, and accessibility options for all passengers.
The rollout is part of Punjab’s broader push for zero-emission public transport, aiming to reduce air pollution and improve mobility in urban and rural areas.
Authorities believe the new buses will offer safer, more reliable transportation while contributing to environmental sustainability, following the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to expand electric bus operations across Punjab.
