Gold prices soared to record highs on Wednesday, setting new benchmarks in both local and global markets.
In Pakistan, the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs6,000, reaching an all-time high of Rs376,700, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The rate of 10-gram gold also touched a historic peak, increasing by Rs5,144 to settle at Rs322,959. This surge came after a day of stability on Tuesday, when gold per tola stood at Rs370,700.
Internationally, gold prices followed the same trend, hitting a record $3,540 per ounce, including a $20 premium. This reflects a sharp $60 rise in a single day, driven by strong demand and market fluctuations.
Silver prices also edged higher, with the per tola rate increasing by Rs12 to Rs4,315.
