The federal government has finally shared how its long-awaited fuel subsidy for vehicle owners will work, as petrol prices continue to rise sharply.
Sources told ProPakistani that, for now, only motorcycle riders will be eligible for the subsidy, while the process for trucks and transport buses is still being worked out.
They added that the subsidy will be sent directly to registered owners through digital wallets linked to their bank accounts. Only vehicles registered in the owner’s name will be considered.

According to the details, motorcycle owners will receive a petrol subsidy of Rs100 per litre. Truck owners will get Rs70,000 per month for standard vehicles and Rs80,000 for heavy commercial trucks. Bus operators will receive Rs100,000 per month. Small farmers will be given Rs1,500 per acre as support for fuel used in agriculture.
Sources said the targeted relief is meant to reduce the financial burden on daily commuters, transport operators, and small farmers dealing with rising fuel costs.
