Winter Timings For Schools And Colleges Announced

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has decided to change the operating hours for schools and colleges in Islamabad due to the recent decrease in temperature. The new schedule, effective from December 1 to January 31, 2024, aims to accommodate the winter conditions.

For schools with a single shift, the revised timings will be from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on Monday through Thursday, with an early closure at 12:30 pm every Friday.

Double-shift institutes will have the morning session from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on weekdays, ending at 12:30 pm on Fridays. The evening shift will run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and the second shift will start at 2:30 pm on Fridays.

Postgraduate colleges are also part of this adjustment, operating either from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm.

This change in school timings might be implemented in other parts of the country due to the expected further drop in temperature. The FDE aims to ensure the well-being of students and staff during the winter season.
