Many individuals have become overly reliant on their mobile phones, making it nearly impossible for them to function without frequently checking their devices. Such behavior can be extremely dangerous when it occurs while driving.

On the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, there is a video that has gone viral. In the video, a bus driver can be seen using his mobile phone to watch a video while driving on a highway. The video was shared by journalist Praveen Mudholkar on Wednesday. The bus driver placed his smartphone under the steering column, and he continued to drive the bus while wearing earphones and regularly glancing at the video. This reckless behavior puts the lives of passengers in jeopardy, even if the road ahead appears to be mostly empty. It seems that a passenger captured the footage.

Take a look at the post below:

On the Samruddhi Highway, there was a driver operating a private bus affiliated with Sangitam Travels. This bus was en route from Pune to Nagpur. Praveen Mudholkar, in his post, highlighted the concerning situation, stating, “A video of a driver watching a video while simultaneously driving a private travels bus on the #Samruddhi Highway, thereby putting the lives of passengers in jeopardy. The driver was reportedly behind the wheel of a bus owned by Sangitam Travels with the registration number MH19CX5552.”

Responses to the video included one user asking, “What can be done to increase awareness and educate both drivers and passengers about the dangers of distracted driving?” Another user humorously noted, “The driver is so engrossed in the show that he doesn’t even realize there’s someone sitting next to him.” Additionally, a third commenter emphasized the need for passengers to confront the driver in such situations, stating, “Simply recording a video isn’t sufficient. This time, they were lucky, but the next time, their luck may run out.”
