Visa fee update for B2 US tourist visa in Dubai — June 2025

DUBAI: Citizens and residents of the UAE who are preparing to travel to the United States as tourists must require a B2 visa. This visa is specifically issued for leisure travel and differs from the B1 visa, which is meant for business visits. Travelers can also apply for both B1 and B2 visas simultaneously.

The applicants are advised to apply early for visas due to location-based and seasonal appointment wait time variation. The applicants have to fill out the DS-160 form online, upload a passport-compliant photo, and schedule an interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate nearby.

Applicants who are aged from 14 to 79 years are required to attend an interview. The individuals below 14 and above 79 are counted as exceptions, unless requested by the consultation officer.

Documentational Requirements

Applicants are requested to bring a passport valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay, the DS-160 confirmation page, and a receipt of the visa application fee payment. If the online system fails to accept the photo, a printed copy meeting official specifications must be presented during the interview.

In some cases, additional documentation may be necessary to prove the purpose of travel, financial ability, and intent to return. Examples of such evidence include employment verification letters, documents showing family ties, or financial sponsorship statements.

As of now, the non-refundable B2 visa application fee is $185. This visa grants temporary access to the U.S. for tourism and is essential for any UAE resident planning a recreational trip to the country.
