The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a warning of possible urban flooding in several parts of Pakistan over the next 48 hours due to expected heavy rainfall.
According to the advisory, the southern districts of Sindh, including Sujawal, Thatta, Badin, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas, face a high risk.
Northeastern Punjab and the Potohar region, particularly Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Lahore, are also considered vulnerable, especially in low-lying urban zones.
Local authorities have been urged to stay on high alert, clear rainwater drainage systems promptly, and keep emergency response teams ready in case of any flooding.
Citizens have been advised to follow weather updates, limit travel during heavy rains, and take necessary steps to safeguard themselves and their property.
The alert comes as monsoon activity gains momentum across the country, with the potential to cause major disruptions in city infrastructure.
