At least five civilians lost their lives and seven others were injured on Friday after the Indian Army, reportedly in a state of panic following setbacks along the Line of Control (LoC), opened unprovoked fire on civilian areas.
According to security sources, Indian troops began shelling populated regions such as Hajira, Forward Kahuta, and Khuiratta using heavy weaponry.
In response, the Pakistan Army launched a strong counteroffensive, which forced Indian artillery to fall silent.
Pakistan’s military retaliated by destroying several Indian posts in response to the aggression.
In the Kailer sector, key Indian positions, including the Doba Mor post, the Battalion Headquarters in Soji, and the Jabar and Tarkhiyan complexes in the Pir Kanthi sector, were completely wiped out, causing major losses to the Indian side.
Further damage was inflicted with the destruction of the Ring Contour post in the Haji Pir sector and the Pokhran Mortar Baghser post.
Additional posts such as Mehri and Khalsa Top in the Kailer sector, along with Danna Top and Mound posts in the Rakhchikri sector, were also eliminated.
These operations left Indian forces in disarray, as Pakistan’s counterattacks inflicted heavy damage and multiple casualties.
Previously, Pakistan had responded to earlier unprovoked fire by destroying Indian military positions including a battalion headquarters in Nanga Tik and the Jhanda Ziarat post in the Haji Pir sector.
According to reports, Pakistan has so far dismantled dozens of Indian posts along the LoC.
