The State Bank of Pakistan has confirmed it will not operate on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, a national holiday declared by the government.
In its official statement, the SBP said, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 28, 2025 (Wednesday) being public holiday on the occasion of ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.”

Commercial banks across the country will also shut down in recognition of the day. Additionally, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had already announced it would remain closed on the same date for the same reason.
