Small aircraft crashes in Vehari, no casualties reported

A light aircraft crashed near Ratta Tibba in Punjab’s Vehari district, but thankfully, both pilots on board escaped unharmed after parachuting to safety, local officials confirmed.

The plane went down near Anwar Abad, and no injuries or deaths were reported. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash, and a full investigation will look into possible technical or operational issues.

This marks the second light aircraft accident in the region in a short span, raising concerns about safety measures and maintenance standards in private aviation. Emergency services responded promptly and secured the area for further examination.

In a separate and more tragic incident in the United States, a Cessna 310 plane crashed onto Tri-Rail tracks near I-95 in Boca Raton, Florida, shortly after departing from Boca Raton Airport en route to Tallahassee.

All three people on board died, and one person on the ground was injured but is now in stable condition.

The crash led to the closure of nearby roads and train services, including North Military Trail and the I-95 overpass at Glades Road. Tri-Rail operations were halted, and alternate bus arrangements were made for passengers.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, and aerial images showed the crash site engulfed in flames and debris.

A witness reported that the aircraft seemed to be in trouble and may have been attempting to return to the airport before going down.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are now investigating, focusing on flight data, potential mechanical problems, and eyewitness reports. The inquiry is ongoing.
