The Sindh School Education Department has adjusted the schedule for the Matric and Intermediate annual exams to accommodate Ramadan.
As per the updated timetable, 9th and 10th-grade exams will now take place from April 7 to April 25, following Eid-ul-Fitr. Meanwhile, practical exams are set to begin on March 10 in schools across the province, including Karachi.
Originally, Matric exams were scheduled to start on March 15 but have been postponed due to Ramadan. Similarly, the Intermediate (1st-year and 2nd-year) exams, initially set for April 15, will now commence on April 28.
This decision was finalized in a meeting of the Steering Committee’s sub-committee, aiming to ensure a smooth examination process while considering students’ needs during the holy month.
The revised schedule has been officially communicated to educational institutions, and students are encouraged to plan their studies accordingly.
Earlier, the Punjab Education Department also announced revised school timings for Ramadan.
As per the issued notification, double-shift schools will operate as follows:
- First shift: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Second shift: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- Fridays: 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
These adjustments aim to facilitate both students and staff while ensuring that academic activities continue without disruption.
