The latest district-wise performance report released by the Punjab government for April paints a concerning picture for Rawalpindi and Murree, as both have seen a sharp decline in their rankings within the Rawalpindi Region.
Once among the top three, Rawalpindi has now plummeted to 26th place, while Murree sits just ahead at 25th, marking a significant drop in overall performance. Meanwhile, Lahore has secured the 11th spot in the same report.
The top-performing districts for the month include Bahawalnagar at number one, followed by Layyah in second and Pakpattan in third.
Others rounding out the top ten are Rajanpur (4th), Vehari (5th), Chiniot (6th), Lodhran (7th), Okara (8th), Khanewal (9th), and Rahim Yar Khan (10th).
The mid-tier rankings feature Mandi Bahauddin (12th), Faisalabad (13th), Bhakkar (14th), Toba Tek Singh (15th), Multan (16th), Muzaffargarh (17th), and Gujranwala (18th).
The lower end of the table includes Mianwali (19th), Gujrat (20th), Sargodha (21st), Bahawalpur (22nd), Sahiwal (23rd), Khushab (24th), with Nankana Sahib (27th), Sheikhupura (28th), Attock (29th), and Sialkot (30th) also struggling.
These rankings highlight the need for urgent administrative improvements in districts that have seen major setbacks, especially Rawalpindi and Murree.
