Rainfall is expected to continue in Lahore and several other areas of Punjab today, as the weather system responsible for the downpour remains active.
Since last evening, intermittent rain has been observed across the province, with cooler temperatures following the rain.
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has stated that the rainfall after five months in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will help end the drought.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures have dropped slightly across Punjab, and snowfall is expected in the hilly regions.
Areas including Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Bahawalnagar are likely to experience rainfall today.
In Lahore, the temperature has dropped to a minimum of 11°C, while the maximum is expected to reach 22°C.
Director General of PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, has urged travelers to exercise caution and plan their journeys according to the weather conditions.
He emphasized that the PDMA control room is monitoring the situation 24//7. Citizens have been advised to limit travel during harsh weather and contact the PDMA helpline (1129) in case of emergencies.
The ongoing rainy spell is expected to continue affecting daily life, and authorities remain on high alert to handle any weather-related emergencies.
