A new weather system has reached Punjab, bringing rain and strong winds and finally putting an end to the prolonged dry spell.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall with gusty winds in several districts, including the Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha divisions.
While some areas will experience showers and strong winds, Lahore and other regions are expected to remain cloudy with intermittent sunshine but no rainfall.
In Lahore, temperatures are expected to range between 19°C in the morning and 32°C at the peak of the day. The rainfall in other areas will provide much-needed relief from the dry conditions that have persisted for weeks.
Beyond Punjab, intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Some places in these regions may also witness heavy monsoons and hailstorms. Additionally, isolated rainfall is expected in upper Punjab, Islamabad, and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 12 hours.
Across major cities, Islamabad is experiencing a temperature of 20°C, while Lahore and Karachi are both at 24°C. Peshawar is at 16°C, Quetta is much colder at 5°C, Gilgit stands at 8°C, Murree at 10°C, and Muzaffarabad at 15°C.
In Kashmir, Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula, cloudy skies with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms.
Leh is likely to witness cloudy weather, rain, and snow, whereas Jammu will have partly cloudy conditions with possible rain and thunderstorms.
Temperatures in these regions vary, with Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian at 7°C, Anantnag at 8°C, Baramula at 11°C, Jammu at 20°C, and Leh dropping to -4°C.
