Punjab is set to introduce its first provincial airline, Air Punjab, after receiving official approval from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
During a special meeting in Lahore, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to move quickly to lease four Airbus planes. Air Punjab will initially focus on domestic routes, with plans to expand internationally after one year.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of securing the latest aircraft and ensuring Air Punjab becomes the leading airline in the country.
This initiative marks a historic step, as Air Punjab will be Pakistan’s first airline operated by a provincial government.
A comprehensive plan for the airline’s operations was shared during the meeting, and preparations are now underway for its launch.
