Secretary of Schools Khalid Wattoo stated that government schools would reopen on April 7, while annual results would be declared on April 4.

The decision coincides with the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s prediction that Eidul Fitr will fall on Monday, March 31.

This holiday break allows students and teachers to celebrate the occasion before the start of the new academic year.

Meanwhile, the federal government has also declared official public holidays for Eidul Fitr, granting a three-day break.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday, the holidays will begin on Monday, March 31, and continue until Wednesday, April 2.

In Sindh, the government has taken steps to prevent fare overcharging during Eid travel.

The provincial transport department’s officers and staff will remain on duty throughout the festive period as part of a crackdown against transporters who demand excessive fares.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced this decision on Saturday, stating, “Complaints of overcharging are common during Eid, and we are committed to ensuring that citizens are not forced to pay more than the officially approved fares.”

Officers from the Sindh Transport Authority, along with regional and district transport teams, will be actively monitoring fares. The minister warned that strict action would be taken against any transporters violating fare regulations.

He also urged the public to report cases of overcharging so that authorities could respond quickly.
