A new wave of rain and snowfall is set to hit Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) from March 9 to March 16, prompting authorities to issue weather warnings.
As per the report, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in mountainous regions, affecting both upper and plain areas of K-P.
In response, the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) in Punjab and K-P have directed district administrations to stay on high alert and take precautionary measures to prevent any potential hazards due to heavy rain or snowfall.
PDMA K-P has specifically instructed officials to ensure that necessary machinery and resources are available in vulnerable areas.
Additionally, farmers have been advised to factor in the weather forecast while making agricultural decisions.
Tourists planning to visit northern regions have been urged to check weather updates and possible road closures before traveling. The PDMA helpline is available for guidance on travel safety.
Meanwhile, Punjab, including Lahore, continues to experience pleasant weather, with temperatures gradually rising. However, rain is expected in multiple districts of the province from March 12 to March 16.
According to the PMD, most districts in Punjab, including Lahore, will experience a mix of sunny and cloudy conditions today and tomorrow, with no rainfall expected during this period.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 17°C, while the maximum could rise to 27°C.
