Punjab announces free education at top university for workers’ children

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced a new initiative offering free higher education to the children of registered industrial and mine workers across the province.

As per the official announcement, eligible students will be granted admission to COMSATS University in Islamabad and its seven sub-campuses, which include Abbottabad, Wah Cantt, Attock, Lahore, Sahiwal, and Vehari.

The Punjab government will cover all tuition expenses as part of this program.

The Punjab Workers Welfare Fund has begun accepting applications in line with the chief minister’s instructions. The opportunity is also open to children of workers who are disabled or have passed away.

Each campus has a separate application deadline: July 9 for Islamabad, July 17 for Lahore, August 4 for Wah Cantt and Abbottabad, August 11 for Vehari and Attock, and August 15 for Sahiwal.
