The Punjab government has announced that summer vacations for all schools in the province will start on May 28, 2025.
This decision was made in response to the intense heatwave currently affecting the region, as confirmed by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
To ensure student safety ahead of the break, the government has also adjusted school hours. “New school timings will be from 7:30 am to 11:30 am,” Rana Hayat announced on X. “School holidays will start from the 28th of May (28th will be a holiday).”

The change follows a fresh alert from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which has forecasted that temperatures in several areas will be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal in the coming days.
The PMD has advised the public to stay cautious, especially during peak heat hours, to avoid health risks.
