The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift the remaining matches of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 to Dubai, following heightened tensions with India.
This decision follows an alarming incident in which an Indian drone reportedly hit Rawalpindi’s Food Street area, just steps away from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, a key PSL venue.
With matches underway, the event sparked immediate concern over the safety of players, staff, and spectators.
Soon after the incident, the PCB convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders to evaluate options, including moving matches to Karachi or abroad. Given the pressing security situation, Dubai was chosen as the most viable and secure alternative.
Although a formal announcement from the PCB is still pending, sources say the plan is already in motion, with arrangements being made to smoothly transition the league overseas.
This move is expected to disrupt team logistics and broadcasting schedules, but authorities are emphasizing that the safety of everyone involved remains the top priority.
Notably, this isn’t the first time PSL matches have been relocated to the UAE due to security challenges in Pakistan.
