President Zardari repeated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the One China policy, describing it as a fundamental aspect of the country’s foreign policy.

He also extended his gratitude to President Xi for his leadership in advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and fortifying bilateral ties.

Recognizing China’s remarkable achievements in 2024 across various sectors, the President expressed confidence in the continued growth of the friendship between the two nations.

Concluding his message, he wished President Xi good health and prosperity for both himself and the people of China.

The Chinese Spring Festival, which marks the beginning of a new lunar year, commenced on January 29, 2025, and is widely celebrated as a time of renewal and festivity.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar addressed concerns raised by Chinese nationals who filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) over alleged police harassment.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Lanjar advised the petitioners to follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lodging complaints.

He emphasized that complaints should be directed through the Chinese Consulate or the Foreign Office, following protocols jointly established by the Sindh government and the Chinese Consulate.

“These petitioners have no direct investment in Pakistan, nor is their petition legally sound,” the minister remarked.

He further stated that he had instructed the Inspector General (IG) Police to assemble a team to engage with the Chinese Consul General in Karachi to address the issue.

Lanjar confirmed the Sindh government’s respect for Chinese nationals but stressed the importance of following official procedures.

“We value our Chinese partners greatly, but they must follow the SOPs set by the government in collaboration with Chinese authorities,” he said.

He also announced plans to meet with the Chinese Consul General to issue an official statement and resolve the concerns amicably.
