President Zardari tests positive for COVID-19, confirms Dr Asim Hussain

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation confirmed by Dr Asim Hussain on Wednesday.

Dr Hussain shared while speaking to Geo News that the president is under the care of infectious disease specialists at a private hospital.

“Due to his condition, all meetings with the president have been strictly prohibited,” he stated.

Dr Asim added that President Zardari’s health is being carefully monitored, and several tests have been conducted to evaluate his condition. “The medical team is providing continuous observation to ensure proper management of his health,” he said.

President Zardari was moved to a private hospital in Karachi from Nawabshah after he began experiencing health complications.

On the other hand, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon dismissed rumors about Zardari’s condition, saying his health is improving.

In a statement, Memon denied reports suggesting the president was being flown to Dubai for treatment, assuring that Zardari is on the path to full recovery.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached out via phone to ask about the president’s health and expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery. He said the entire nation is praying for the president’s well-being.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also spoke to President Zardari over the phone to check on his condition. He extended his good wishes and prayers for Zardari’s quick recovery.

Additionally, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori contacted Dr Asim Hussain to ask about the president’s health and conveyed his best wishes for his recovery.
