Pakistani woman officer earns global recognition for detective work

Pakistani police officer Anam Sher Khan brought international recognition to her country’s law enforcement. She received the Criminal Investigation Award 2025 at a ceremony in Dubai.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police was honored by the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police for her outstanding investigative work. Particularly in solving two high profile murder cases in Punjab province.

Her most notable achievement was leading the investigation into the tragic death of 12 year old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi, which resulted in suspects being apprehended within 72 hours.

She also ensured swift justice in another case by securing arrests within just 24 hours for the murder of Mohsin. These successes demonstrated her exceptional investigative skills and commitment to timely justice.

The award selection process involved rigorous evaluation of candidates from police forces across 192 participating countries. Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that this recognition reflects positively on Pakistan’s entire law system.

In another achievement for Pakistan’s police force, DPO Kasur Mohammad Esa Khan received the Best Artificial Intelligence Implementation in Policing Award at the same ceremony.

These international honors highlight Pakistan’s growing capabilities in both traditional investigative work and technological advancements in law enforcement, while also showcasing the professional excellence of its police officers on a global platform.

The recognition serves to enhance Pakistan’s standing in international policing circles and reinforces public confidence in the country’s criminal justice system.
