Pakistan Railways has announced a 20% fare reduction for all regular train passengers across the country during the three-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday, from June 6 to June 9, 2025.
According to an official announcement, this discount will apply to all classes and trains but is valid only for current bookings, not for Eid special trains.
The move follows the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi.
Railway authorities have also pledged to enhance service quality, ensure timely operations, and tighten security during the busy travel period.
To handle the expected rush, Pakistan Railways is operating five special Eid trains. The first departed Karachi for Lahore on Monday, followed by a second train leaving Quetta for Peshawar at 10:00 AM today.
The third train will depart Lahore for Karachi via Multan at 5:00 PM, while the fourth will travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi at 8:00 PM on Tuesday. The fifth and final Eid special train will leave Karachi for Lahore at 8:00 PM on June 4.
Additionally, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi announced the launch of a new passenger train service between Lahore and Narowal, which will begin operations on June 15.
He also shared that the department has generated Rs83 billion in revenue over the last four months, highlighting significant improvements in performance.
