Pakistan Day celebrated with grand military Parade in Islamabad

The Pakistan Day military parade took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Sunday, celebrating the Lahore Resolution of 1940.

The event began with the national anthem, followed by an impressive display of military strength and national unity. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, top military officials, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.

Various formations of Sherdil, Mirage, F-16, JF-17 Thunder, and J-10C aircraft performed a breathtaking flypast, demonstrating remarkable precision and agility.

In his address at the parade, President Zardari endorsed the nation’s dedication to safeguarding its sovereignty and freedom, emphasizing that the people and armed forces are prepared to sacrifice for the country.

He stressed that the principles of “Unity, Faith, and Discipline” serve as a guiding force in overcoming national challenges.

Paying tribute to those who sacrificed for Pakistan’s independence, he reiterated the country’s vision of building a modern welfare state based on justice, equality, and the rule of law.

Highlighting security concerns, Zardari warned of external threats from India and militant groups but ensured that the armed forces and the nation stand united to counter any hostile intentions.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening national defense, boosting the economy, and creating job opportunities for the youth, whom he called the nation’s greatest asset.

The president reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Kashmir and Palestine, urging the international community to recognize their right to self-determination.

Earlier in the ceremony, President Zardari reviewed the armed forces’ groups, who stood in perfect formation, and received a presidential salute as the national anthem played.

He arrived at the venue in a traditional presidential chariot, led by bodyguards on horseback, adding to the event’s grandeur.

The celebrations also featured a military band playing patriotic tunes, further uplifting the spirit of national pride and unity.
