A massive fire broke out early Wednesday morning at Millennium Mall, located on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi, and was brought under control after more than four hours, according to officials.
Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan said the blaze began on the roof of the mall and quickly spread to the third and fourth floors, where many garment shops are located.
He noted that the firefighting efforts were delayed due to a lack of water, which made the situation harder to manage.
In total, eleven fire trucks and two snorkels were deployed to tackle the flames. Although the fire also reached the first and second floors, it was less intense in those areas.
Rescue teams confirmed that the roof and third floor were heavily damaged, affecting several shops and offices. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.
People living in a nearby residential building were safely evacuated as a precaution, and the building itself remained untouched by the fire.
Officials said the flames were fully extinguished after around four and a half hours of continuous efforts.
