The iPhone 16 series might sport a new camera layout, as suggested by leaked cases. The rear camera setup appears vertically aligned, resembling a pill shape instead of the square design in previous models like the iPhone 15. These cases hint at potential changes in the upcoming iPhone lineup, expected to launch in the latter half of 2024.

Leaked images of smartphone cases, likely for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, show a larger case for the Plus model. Both cases feature a vertical camera bump, indicating a shift from the diagonal layout found in the iPhone 15 series. Alongside the camera island, there’s a plastic cutout for the LED flash.

Reports suggest that the new camera setup might facilitate spatial recording, a feature not available in the iPhone 15 due to its diagonal camera layout.

Additionally, Apple may introduce its Action button, currently present in the iPhone 15 Pro models, to all iPhone 16 models. The leaked cases also hint at a possible ‘Capture’ button.

Further leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro models could come in four color options, and there’s speculation about a dedicated Capture button. These developments indicate significant changes in Apple’s flagship smartphone lineup for 2024
