LDA seals step schools, dental arts, 95 other buildings in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 97 commercial properties last Friday for operating illegally or failing to pay required commercialisation fees in areas under its jurisdiction.

During the operation, LDA’s Town Planning Wing shut down 26 buildings in Gulberg and Faisal Town, 50 in Johar Town, Shadman, Shah Jamal, and along Canal Bank Road, and 21 more in Mustafa Town and on Wahdat Road.

These properties were being used for commercial activities without proper approvals or had outstanding dues.

Among the sealed establishments were Step School, Bascule School, Lecole School, English Grammar School, Dental Arts, Shifa Medical Centre, Zara Noor Makeup Studio, Huma’s Signature Salon, along with various workshops, grocery stores, restaurants, offices, and other businesses.

The operation was led by Chief Town Planners I Assad-uz-Zaman and II Azhar Ali, with enforcement teams and police support. LDA officials confirmed that several warnings and notices had been issued to the building owners before the crackdown.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq instructed that the campaign should continue without discrimination against all illegal commercial activities and fee defaulters within LDA-controlled zones.
